Focused upon ethanol technology, plant & equipment, Praj is a world
leader with a number of processes and systems for ethanol production to its
credit. Today, Praj has over 350 references in more than 40 countries across
5 continents. Praj has a number of operating plants in South Central
America, Caribbeans and is presently executing plants in USA and in Mexico
in Sinaloa Province. All five plants in Colombia which supply ethanol under
the E10 program are supplied by Praj.
Praj enjoys a unique position in the world of ethanol technology by virtue
of its expertise which cuts across a variety of feedstocks - from sugar
bearing ones like cane and beet - to starch bearing ones like cassava,
sorghum, cane juice etc. In fact, Praj has developed a technology for
multi-feed plants which can process, apart from canemolasses, cane juice,
tropical sugarbeet juice, sorghum, wheat and any other starch based raw
materials.

Praj
provides holistic solutions encompassing range of technologies and systems
for wastewater management like wastewater treatment plant project, wastewater treatment system project, wastewater treatment turnkey plant. In-house developments have been well received
with several plants successfully commissioned. This includes an evaporation
system and biomethanation system.
With increasing awareness and application of biofuels as an environment
friendly additive to transport fuel in many countries there is a need to
identify newer sources of ethanol production. Praj has already taken a lead.
Praj has evaluated sweet sorghum as a viable alternate feedstock for ethanol
production.
Praj also has a wholly owned subsidiary in USA called Praj Schneider , an
engineering firm active in biofuels industry. It supplies single-source
design development, engineering, and project management services which
include architectural, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, chemical
process, and control systems integration
Praj has set up a JV in Europe with Aker Kvaerner called BioCnergy Europa
B.V. and very recently in Brazil called Praj Jaragua Bienergia S.A.
